Dr. Lawrence Harris, CFA, PhD, holds the Fred V. Keenan Chair in Finance at the USC Marshall School of Business. His research, teaching, and consulting address regulatory and practitioner issues in trading and investment management. He authored Trading and Exchanges: Market Microstructure for Practitioners, a widely regarded “must read” for entrants into the securities industry. Professor Harris served as SEC Chief Economist from 2002-2004. He currently serves as lead independent director of Interactive Brokers (IBKR), director of the Selected Funds, and research coordinator of the Q-Group. Dr. Harris received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago, and is a CFA charterholder. Dr. Harris teaches at Level I.Back To Top ^^
Mariya Entina, CFA, CPA | Mariya Entina, CFA is a Credit Analyst on the Global Developed Credit team at DoubleLine. Her current focus is investment grade corporate bonds. Previously, Ms. Entina served as a Credit Analyst at Pacific Life Insurance Company. Prior to this she held roles at Capital Group and KPMG. Mariya Entina has earned both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designations, in addition to a bachelor's degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles. Ms. Entina is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Los Angeles. She currently serves on the advisory council for the Women's Membership Group of CFA Los Angeles.Back To Top ^^
Parul Narain, CFA | Parul Narain, Director at Sound Mark Partners, heads asset management and is responsible for portfolio surveillance and valuation. In this role, Ms. Narain is the point of contact for the sponsors and obtains regular operating and market update as well as all relevant and available source documents, including property level operating statements, rent rolls and servicer remittance reports. Ms. Narain reviews operating and leasing activity, updates underwritten debt service coverage ratios, debt yields and loan-to-value ratios, and prepares quarterly asset management reports. Ms. Narain also plays a key role in fund administration, audit and tax compliance, financial reporting, and computations of outstanding shares and net asset value by investor. In addition, Ms. Narain performs market research, asset level underwriting, and due diligence on new investments.
Prior to joining Sound Mark Partners in 2015, Ms. Narain was a Senior Controller at CBRE Global Investors where she played a key role in setting up and overseeing the accounting and reporting structure for all debt funds and managed separate accounts. For debt funds, Ms. Narain managed the allocation of income and fees to partners, oversaw the public auditors in the preparation of audited financial statements and tax returns, issued capital calls, recommended distributions and was responsible for budgets, cash forecasts, asset valuations, debt covenants, REIT testing and liquidity compliance. Prior to joining CBRE Global Investors in 2010, Ms. Narain was an Assistant Controller at Ryland Mortgage Company, the financial services segment of The Ryland Group, one of the largest nationwide homebuilders. Ms. Narain was with Ryland for over 10 years where she managed the accounting and finance team and was responsible for SEC reporting, regulatory and audit compliance, corporate budgeting and hedge analysis. Nicolas Quenouille, CFA | Nicolas Quenouille is a Vice President, Senior Lead Investment Product Advisor, with the Advanced Solutions group of Bank of the West's Wealth Management Group where he interacts with Bank of the West's advisors and clients to develop alternative products such as structured notes and private funds designed to complement clients' investment portfolios. Prior to this role, he served as a Senior Lead Compliance Officer & Manager for the Investments & Capital Markets Compliance Advisory group of Bank of the West. Before joining Bank of the West, Nicolas was a Compliance Officer with French investment bank Natixis in New York, where he participated in the compliance advisory & oversight program for Global Markets sales and trading desks. Additionally, Nicolas has worked with the equity broker-dealer of the Crédit Agricole group as well as with the French Delegation to the Organization for Economic Cooperation & Development (OECD) in Paris, France, and the United Nations Office against Drugs & Crime (UNODC) in Bogotá, Colombia. He graduated with a Master’s Degree in International Economic Policy from Sciences Po Paris, and earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2019.Back To Top ^^
